This week I’m finishing up a 3-week series about verses that are important to me. Two weeks ago, we talked about Ephesians 3:20-21 and how God can do more than we can imagine. Last week we talked about 1 Thessalonians 5:19 and how we can quench the Holy Spirit. This week, we’re talking about Habakkuk 3:17-19. I love this entire book because the prophet expresses some real issues. He doubts God. He disagrees with God. But ultimately trusts God. He even goes so far as to say that, if his world totally collapsed, he’s secure in God. This week we’ll be challenging the students to have an eternal focus in the midst of crisis.

We’ve got some exciting things coming up at The Yard:

  • August 21 – Promotion Sunday – New freshman, arrive at 5:00 for some hang out time with the staff, volunteers, and student leaders.
  • August 28 – Back to School Event – We’re excited to screen Beware of Christians and do a Q & A session with the movie’s stars. That night we’ll also be giving away a LOT of prizes, including an iPad 2! For more information on the event, visit our facebook page.
